Born on November 13, 1974, in Manisa-Akhisar, as the second child in a family of three. He began his education at Misak-ı Milli Primary School and completed his middle school and high school education at İzmir Private Turkish College.
He completed his university studies at Selçuk University Faculty of Dentistry. Following the proverb that "light rises from the east," he moved to Diyarbakır in 1999 for his doctoral studies. In 2004, he received the title of "Doctor of Orthodontics" from the Institute of Health Sciences at Dicle University.
After receiving the title of Assistant Professor at Dicle University in 2006, he accelerated his scientific research. On January 20, 2009, he became an "Associate Professor" in the field of Orthodontics, passing the exam before the jury determined by the Interuniversity Board (ÜAK).
Between February 22, 1999, and July 19, 2012, for 13.5 years, he traveled extensively through the Eastern and Southeastern provinces, enjoying the region's beauty and taking pride in guiding his guests around like a tour guide.
On July 19, 2012, he began his tenure at Adnan Menderes University Faculty of Dentistry in Aydın, serving as the Vice Dean.
After receiving the title of Professor on April 14, 2014, he was appointed as the Founding Dean of the Aydın Adnan Menderes University Faculty of Dentistry on December 19, 2014. The faculty admitted its first dentistry students for undergraduate education in September 2014, and the first graduates were released in 2019. Postgraduate education began in all departments in 2015.
During his deanship, the Faculty of Dentistry provided oral and dental health treatments to many patients from Aydın, Muğla, Denizli, and even İzmir. The faculty also boasts an inpatient service and operating room, a unique feature in the Aegean region. This operating room has been vital for patients with dental phobias and mental disabilities, and has made major jaw surgeries possible. Through the "Journey to Kuşadası for Dental Health" project, which he led, he secured a grant from the South Aegean Development Agency, establishing the faculty as the first public institution in Turkey to engage in Dental Tourism in the field of Dentistry.
He served as Vice Rector at Aydın Adnan Menderes University between February 2015 and January 2019. During this time, he also served as the Director of the Adnan Menderes University Continuing Education Center (ADÜSEM). As director, ADÜSEM signed protocols with the Ministry of Justice, the Ministry of Family, Labor, and Social Services, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, facilitating the issuance of various certificates and authorization documents on behalf of the ministries.
Since September 22, 2020, he has been serving as the Head of the Orthodontics Department at Dokuz Eylül University Faculty of Dentistry.
His academic interests include cone-beam computed tomography in orthodontics, digital orthodontics, adult orthodontics, and orthodontic treatments with clear aligners.
He is married to Prof. Dr. Senem YİĞİT ÖZER, an endodontist who is also a dentist, and they have a son named Törem.
