Törün ÖZER

He was born on November 13, 1974 in Akhisar, Manisa as the second child of a three-child family. He started his education life at Misak-i Milli Primary School and completed his middle school/high school education at İzmir Private Turkish College.

After completing his undergraduate degree at Selcuk University Faculty of Dentistry, in 1999 he went to Diyarbakir in accordance with the saying "light rises from the east" for his doctorate education. In 2004, he received the title of "Orthodontist Doctor" from Dicle University Institute of Health Sciences.

In 2006, after obtaining the title of Assistant Professor Dr. at Dicle University, he intensified his scientific studies.

On January 20, 2009, he became an "Associate Professor" in the field of Orthodontics by taking an exam in front of the jury determined by the Interuniversity Board (UAK).

Between February 22, 1999 and July 19, 2012, for 13.5 years, he toured the eastern and southeastern provinces and took pleasure in tasting the beauties there and proudly guiding the guests who came.

On July 19, 2012, he started working as the Vice Dean at the Faculty of Dentistry of Adnan Menderes University in Aydin.

After obtaining the title of Professor on April 14, 2014, on December 19, 2014, he was appointed as the Founding Dean of Aydin Adnan Menderes University Faculty of Dentistry. Dental students were admitted to the faculty in September 2014 and the first graduates were given in 2019. In 2015, postgraduate education was started in all departments. During his deanship, the Faculty of Dentistry served the oral and dental health treatments of many patients not only from Aydin but also from Muğla, Denizli and even Izmir. The faculty proudly has the only inpatient service and operating room in the Aegean region. Thanks to this operating room, which is very important for patients with dental phobia and mental disabilities, major jaw surgeries can be performed. With the project "Journey to Kuşadası for Dental Health", of which he was the coordinator, he received a grant from the South Aegean Development Agency and made his Faculty the first public institution in Turkey to do Dental Tourism in the field of Dentistry.

Between February 2015 and January 2019, he served as Vice Rector at Adnan Menderes University. During this duty, he also served as the Director of Adnan Menderes University Continuous Education Center (ADÜSEM). During his directorship, protocols were signed with the Ministries of Justice, Family, Labor and Social Services, and Foreign Affairs through ADÜSEM, and various certificate and authorization documents were issued on behalf of the Ministries.

Since September 22, 2020, he has been working as the Head of the Department of Orthodontics at Dokuz Eylül University Faculty of Dentistry.

His academic interests are cone beam computed tomography in orthodontics, digital orthodontics, adult orthodontics, and orthodontic treatments with transparent plates.

He is married to endodontist Prof. Dr. Senem YIGIT OZER, who is also a dentist, and they have a happy marriage with their son named Törem.
